Means to Ascend - Sage Titanium x MDV Sports

Means to Ascend

A short film we created for Marker Dalbello Volkl and Sage Titanium Bicycles to tell the story of two unlikely friends and athletes coming together.

Means to Ascend follows Maxx Chance and Johnny Egan as they strap touring skis to their gravel bikes and attempt to summit Mount Blackmore on a 100% human powered mission.

Blackmore is a peak whose northside can be viewed from just about anywhere in the city limits of Bozeman and is a classic ski descent for backcountry enthusiasts in the region and beyond. During the mud season in April to May the canyon road that leads to the trailhead is closed to motor vehicles. So, the only way to access the area is by bike.

Sage Titanium

Sage Titanium is rad custom bike company out of Portland, Oregon. They make bomb proof bikes that rip everything from the smoothest road to the rowdiest trail. We were brought on to produce a series of videos and media content to grow the Sage brand. Maxx Chance is the newest member of the Sage Titanium team. This first video is an introduction of Maxx, his unique riding style and his unmistakable personality. We are working together to produce content from short films about having fun outside to product photography of beautiful bikes and stylish apparel in stunning locations.

Warren Miller Performing Arts Center

The Warren Miller Performing Arts Center located in Big Sky, Montana wanted to promote their Fall series that they launched in 2019. We shot three shows and put together a few 30 to 60 second promo videos for social media. The series included North Wind, a virtual reality DJ, Che Apalache, An Argentinian blue grass band, and the Cashore Marionettes. The goal was to capture the excitement of a community coming together to attend these world class shows in an intimate setting. In addition to promoting the quality of the shows we also wanted to capture the fun of the event as a whole. In the videos you will see guests arriving at sunset, getting drinks from the bar during intermission and mingling with the performers after the show. We continue to work with WMPAC on a project to project basis. Most recently, we produced a time-lapse of the full moon casting its light over Lone Peak.

Blend: A Bozeman Winery

Blend is a winery out of Bozeman, Montana with a second location in Big Sky as well. We wanted to promote all the different aspects of the . This started with the excellent food and wine (of course), event hosting, holiday specials, and their all new wine club. We decided to break this down to five 30-60 second videos, each spot focusing on a different concept. Four of the videos were made for sharing on social media (Facebook and Instagram) and another all encompassing ad was produced to be aired for local television.

Max Charters

Max Charters is a day sailing charter company out of Red Hook, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. For this project, we traveled to the USVI to capture the beauty of sailing and snorkeling with the Max Charter Crew. With hundreds of different day charters to choose from, we wanted to focus on the things that set Max Charters apart from the rest. The videos focus on the young, fun-loving crew made up of Captain Hunter and crew members Jessi, Jamie and Fin (Jessi’s adorable dog that tends to tag along). Through stunning aerial video, underwater shots of marine life, and spectacular sunsets out on the boat, we put together a variety of short videos, time-lapses and still imagery for quick social media posts and ads and three 30 to 90 second videos for their website and sharing on Facebook and IGTV.
